 Just see what the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has accomplished in California to see what plans they have for you and yours in Texas. Just last week, the ACLU filed a petition asking the California Supreme Court to rob the California people of their right to vote on the definition of marriage come November. Does this sound like an organization that promotes civil liberties? It gets even worse. Wherever the ACLU has moved into town, lawsuits against Christians expressing their faith in public, Christmas trees and Ten Commandments monuments have followed. So if they don’t want you to believe in Judeo-Christian principles, what do they want you to believe in? According to ACLU Founder, Roger Baldwin, the goal is a Communist state—no one gets to own a private home or land, protect their family by possessing a gun, or even speak their own thoughts on homosexuality, faith or freedom. So as this liberal powerhouse is working to raise millions of dollars for their agenda in Texas and six other heartland states, what can you do to defend your freedoms?  Last week marked a milestone in Congressional history—a sad milestone for our nation. Democratic leaders in Congress caved to and championed the cause of radical pro-homosexual groups, convening the first Congressional hearing on discrimination against “transgendered” persons in the workplace. The event is a frightening step towards creating a special class for ‘gender confused’ individuals—men who wake up and feel like a woman will receive special protection under the law. For businesses, this would create moral and logistical nightmares. Not only will employers lose the right not to hire people engaging in the “transgendered” lifestyle, but they will be forced to allow men, who feel like women that day, to use a women’s restroom and also accommodate cross-dressing individuals. This entire effect is an attack on religious freedom and the beliefs of most Americans. The government is now forcing its new morality on every citizen and business. Such legislation elevating sexual orientation, like ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act), is expected to pass soon, depending upon the upcoming elections. Get ready. The attack on religious freedom and freedom of conscience is coming first.

 Free Market Foundation is joining thirteen other ministries, including Campus Crusade for Christ, East-West Ministries, Josh McDowell Ministries and Hope for the Heart in a vision that will build teamwork, cooperation and resources within the world of Christian non-profits—the Hope Center. The Hope Center is the brainchild of June Hunt, Founder of Hope for the Heart, who Monday broke ground on the building of a $46 million development. The development will provide a number of resources that can expand our reach into the public, the legislature and the courts, primarily through two multi-media studios and a large auditorium for conferences. As June noted in Monday’s groundbreaking ceremony, and Kelly reinforced in an interview with Christian radio KCBI, this teamwork will allow us to accomplish great things for the Kingdom of God. Preparing to move in the fall of 2009, Free Market now anticipates not only growing in impact upon our culture, but also greater opportunity to serve the other ministries among us.
